Sundays at 9:30 AM at 8 Canal St, Big Flats. Here’s what to expect.
The Sunday experience
- Time & location
- Our service begins every Sunday at 9:30 AM at 8 Canal St, Big Flats.
- Arrival & parking
- You can find parking, including handicapped parking, right in front of the church. Most of our community enters through the main front doors. There is a wooden ramp for those that need it.
- Atmosphere
- Our environment is welcoming and casual. You will see a variety of styles, from coats and ties to more relaxed, casual clothing—please wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable. All are truly welcome.
- The service
- We gather for a time of music (a mix of hymns and contemporary worship songs), Scripture reading, and teaching.
Giving
We encourage all members and regular attendees to give to the ministry of the church as God has laid on your heart. No plate or basket is passed during the service. There is a small box in the back of the sanctuary for gifts as well as an option for online giving for those who prefer that method.
Refreshment & community
- The “Well”
- Following the service, we have a dedicated time for refreshment. This is a perfect opportunity to meet others and enjoy a moment of quiet or conversation before our small groups begin.
- Monthly Dish to Pass Lunch
- On the second Sunday of every month, we host a “dish to pass” lunch in place of our small groups. This is a wonderful way to experience the “Living Water” of community over a shared meal.
For families
Care for children: We value the presence of families and the spiritual sensitivity of the youngest among us.
- During the service: We have friendly, vetted volunteers available to work with young children during the 9:30 AM service. Children are welcome to participate during the music time. Volunteers will gather the children and take them for a lesson and crafts prior to the sermon.
- During small groups: While adults meet in small groups, we provide specific teaching for children.
- Simple process: We want your morning to be stress-free, so there is no formal check-in process required.
- RightNow Media: Available for FREE and includes programming for children.
Mid-week discipleship groups and Bible studies
We have a variety of weekday and week night small groups and Bible Studies. Currently we offer gatherings on Monday nights, Wednesday mornings at 9:30 (women), Wednesday afternoons at 3:45 (men), Thursday evenings at 7 (men and women), and monthly (teens). Reach out to us for more details or to get contact info for the group leaders.
